Hello whoever is reading this. I am profusely amazed at how close Halloween is to when I am writing this. While I am excited for Halloween this year, I know how annoyed I will get once I see the same (so-called) new costumes over and over. Anyways, here are my thoughts on Halloween this year π
I absolutely LOVE Halloween and everything about it. I think it is such a fun holiday, and here is why.
- Costumes. The idea of scaring your neighbors silly so you can get your sweet profits is brilliant. While nowadays, most costumes aren’t as scary and classic and are mostly the costume-wearer’s favorite character, no one can deny it: It is practically exhilarating to look for a good costume and put it on for the first time. You get to dress up as something new, create a new persona.
2. Decorating. One of my favorite parts of Halloween is picking a new theme to decorate our house as. We could go with cute, scary, creepy, or maybe just something from a show. You have to think how it would work with your house, if it would be possible with the materials you have or can get, or if you like the idea at all. It really takes a lot of effort and thought, and I think it is an amazing way of showing your spirit.
3. The feeling of community. It’s the feeling of being safe enough to walk through your neighborhood and collect candy from literal strangers. Some kids walk without their parents. All of these things are a privilege, and I am so grateful for all of this.
Overall, I love Halloween and think that it is one of the best holidays for people who celebrate it.
Thank you for reading π
